Kilkerran 16yo – 2022

Description

 Kilkerran 16 Year Old 2022 is an official bottling which was produced in the Campbeltown region of Scotland by Mitchells Glengyle Ltd. The ppm level (12-15) is similar to that of Springbank whisky, but because they have a upward going line-arm it gives a really different texture to the whisky This 16yo has matured for 70% on ex-bourbon casks and for 30% on Ex-sherry casks. It is bottled at 46%ABV. It is limited to 7000 bottles worldwide. Nose – A citrus element familiar to Kilkerran kicks off this dram in notes of oranges and opal fruits. Notes of turkish delight, foam bananas and strawberry laces develop, along with a malty, cereal note. Palate – Sweet on the palate with a soft hint of peat smoke, there are notes of peardrops, sherbet, toffee apples, toasted marshmallows, and an orange note carried through from the nose. Finish – A dry finish with notes of liquorice, peppermint and peat smoke.
