Description
One of the larger distilleries in Diageo’s stable, the modern Glendullan distillery was constructed in 1972 next door to the previous distillery, which had been constructed in the late 1890s and whose whisky had found favour at the court of King Edward VII in 1902.
The two distillery ran concurrently until 1985, when the original distillery was mothballed and converted into a workshop for distillery engineers. During this time, the malt from the two distilleries was vatted together, a practice that would not be permitted these days.
Until recently the only official bottlings of Glendullan were a 12 year-oldin the now-discontinued Flora and Fauna range, alongside a few older, cask-strength Rare Malt editions.
This Glendullan was bottled by Scotlands oldest independent bottler, Cadenhead’s. This 19yo is a small batch bottling of only 2 bourbon hogsheads.
It is bottled at 53,4% and produced only 480 bottles worldwide.
