The Glen Elgin distillery creates a single malt with a beautiful fruity and floral style.
Casks of Glen Elgin are an absolute pleasure to nose and taste.
The piper is a great character to represent Glen Elgin; it matches the varied notes of Glen Elgin – be those light and floral or deep, and at times herbal.
Glen Elgin excels in American oak, where the soft vanilla and hints of spice enhance the distillery character.
Expect a sweet beginning and a long and rewarding finish from this exceptional Speyside distillery.
Nose
Toasted brioche and vanilla sponge cake promise a sweet and moreish single malt. Freshly cut and grass-toasted oak offer more subtle complexities.
Palate
Buttery and oily popcorn with sweet brown sugar and almond. With water added, fresh green notes of pear and cardamom rise to the fore and then make way to a waxy and prickly peppery note of anise.
Finish
Elegant and refined. Crisp apple and then into sweet malt and salted caramel popcorn. Faint spiciness develops and drifts off to provide a medium-long finish.
