Description
The Christian Drouin 2002 vintage is a Calvados Pays d’Auge.
Double distillation in a copper still and bottled at 42%alc.vol.
Aging in old Calvados barrels and old Rivesaltes barrels.
Rivesaltes is a sweet, fortified wine from the Languedoc-Roussillon region of Southern France. With a resemblance in flavor notes and texture to a hearty tawny port, Madeira, and even a bit sherry-like, Rivesaltes can be made from a variety of grapes, including the Grenache grape.
The nose is frank, marked by apple, candied fruits with notes of
blond tobacco in the empty glass.
Vintage 2002 has a bold nose with apple, candied fruit and hints of blond tobacco. The mouth is straight forward with apple zest in the aftertaste.
