Boann Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey – Marsala Cask Finish
A new dawn in Irish whiskey, the Boann Single Pot Still Marsala Cask Finish is a bold fusion of Irish craftsmanship and Sicilian winemaking tradition.
Maturation Process:
- First Stage: Aged in ex-Bourbon barrels from Brown Forman (Kentucky), made from heavily charred American Oak (Quercus Alba).
- Mash Bill: Crafted with malted barley, unmalted barley, oats, and rye—all locally sourced in Ireland.
- Finishing Stage: Rested in Superiore and Fine Marsala Butts from Cantine de Vinci, made from French Oak (Quercus Petraea).
The combination of American Oak vanilla and honey with French Oak spice and Marsala’s juicy citrus notes creates a truly unique whiskey experience.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Aromatic spices, resinous bark, burnt orange, fresh-cut grass, and floral honey.
- Palate: A rich, velvety mouthfeel with sweet marmalade, followed by peppermint and oak spices.
- Finish: Long and warming with cinnamon and clove lingering on the palate.
