You like Peat? Get it young!

If you like peated whisky, I can only advice to get your whisky younger.

Everybody is always looking for older whisky ‘cause it has a full body, is more balanced and so on.

When it comes to peat, I suggest to get a younger whisky.

The intensity of the peat flavors will decrease with a longer maturation in favor of other aromas coming from the cask.

Who needs Islay?

Everyone is always talking about Islay when it comes down to peated whisky.
Don’t get me wrong, I like peated Islay whisky, but for me it is not an Islay exclusivity.

Personally I am a big fan of the heavily peated Single Malt of Springbank Distillery: LONGROW.
The combination of a greasy, peated malt with some red wine flavors works very well.

The longrow RED series seems to be well appriciated by the public as Springbank continues to create new editions.

For those who missed out, here you can find some older releases.
