Description
Boann Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey – PX Cask Finish
A new dawn in Irish whiskey, the Boann Single Pot Still PX Cask Finish is a masterful blend of tradition, craftsmanship, and rare cask finishing.
Maturation Process:
- Primary Aging: Matured in Oloroso Sherry Hogsheads from Bodegas Garvey, Spain, made from American Oak (Quercus Alba).
- Mash Bill: Crafted with malted barley, unmalted barley, oats, and rye—all locally grown in Ireland.
- Finishing Stage: Aged in extraordinary 60-year-old Pedro Ximénez (PX) Solera Butts from Malaga, sourced through R.L. Rodriguez in Andalusia.
- Unique Wood Influence: Some PX casks are made from Chestnut, a rare wood in whiskey maturation, adding depth and complexity.
This harmonious combination of Oloroso Sherry and vintage PX Solera casks creates an indulgent and layered whiskey experience.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Rich aromas of raisins, figs, molasses, sweet caramel, and a hint of leather.
- Palate: A luxurious blend of honey syrup, fine dark chocolate, crispy bacon, and cracked white pepper.
- Finish: Long and satisfying with lingering earthy caramel and deep PX richness.
