Celebrate the 10th Edition of Christian Drouin’s Expérimental Range – A Unique Collaboration with Springbank

To celebrate five years of the Expérimental range, Christian Drouin proudly presents its 10th edition. This special release was created in partnership with the legendary Springbank distillery, famous for its artisanal Scottish whiskey.

The collaboration builds on a relationship that began over 20 years ago. Back then, Springbank aged some of its whiskies in Christian Drouin’s calvados barrels. Now, they come together again, blending the fresh apple flavors of Drouin’s calvados with the peaty notes (10-12 ppm) from Springbank barrels. For this edition, a deep 19-year-old Pays d’Auge calvados was selected. It aged for five months in eight Springbank barrels, resulting in a limited release of 2,130 bottles.

In exchange, Christian Drouin sent eight calvados barrels to Springbank, continuing this unique partnership.

“The Expérimental range has taken us on an incredible journey over the past five years,” says Guillaume Drouin. “We’ve worked with some of the world’s most iconic spirits producers. Partnering with Springbank, a distillery deeply respected by connoisseurs, was a rewarding experience.”

Tasting Notes by Guillaume Drouin:

• Nose: Rich aromas of roasted apples blend with a hint of smokiness. Plum and clafoutis notes follow, with earthy accents.
