Description
The Teeling Crystal Malt, is a Limited Edition, which was triple-distilled at their distillery in Dublin. What sets it apart is the addition of crystal malt to the mash bill of their standard single malt. It was then aged in virgin American oak barrels. Crystal malt is produced when sugar crystals form during the traditional malting process, which occurs at higher temperatures. The result is pronounced toffee and caramel flavors in the final whiskey. This combination of a unique grain composition with the triple distillation process and the maturation barrels results in a whiskey bottled at 46% ABV and was not chill-filtered.
Nose: Green apple, stewed pear, brown sugar with vanilla, and light oak
Palate: An explosion of toffee with apple pie spices, freshly baked goods, and a honey-like sweetness
Finish: Long, luxurious with cinnamon and caramel
