Dumbarton 21yo SC – Watt Whisky

For a lot of you maybe an unfamiliar brand, but this is just amazing.

This  single cask 21yo Dumbarton, Single Grain Scotch, was distilled in 2000 and bottled in 2022 at 57,1% vol.

It did get a finish of 9 months on an ex-Islay cask.

This whisky gives you light, dry smoke, butterscotch, syrup, ash and medicinal notes.

Personally, I had the immediate sense that it had been matured on Tequilla or Mezcal casks. Very different, but sensational whisky.
